The Residential Tenancies Act requires tenants to give at least 28 days’ written notice if they intent to vacate the property.
The end date on tenant’s notice cannot be before the end date of the lease. If it is, the tenant is breaking their lease and may be subject to fees associated with breaking the lease.
Vacating tenants need to complete this form.
Tenants can email, post (preferably registered) or hand deliver the completed notice to our office at Level 3, 14 Collins Street, Melbourne 3000.
We will contact the tenant to discuss the vacating process. We will send a Final Inspection Cleaning Guide to prepare for the final inspection. The ‘Moving out Section’ of the Renters Guide also explains tenants’ obligations.
